The USS Sarita was an Artemis Class AKA (Auxiliary Cargo Assault Transport) Ship in WWII. In 1945 my father served aboard her on a tour to Japan and the Philippines. This is a chronicle of that time.
Does anyone know what the torpedo looking thing is in the front of this photo? It was kept on-deck at the bow of the ship.
